Re: Is this normal?

Good for you mama!! All the doctors here seem to push formula at first hint of slow weight gain. It is so frustrating. I like to try to get my girls to pump and supplement with that instead of formula. Keep up the good work mama!! I really hope this doctor works out for you.

Another thing that drives me nuts is that the doctors use the formula feeding charts. Ask for your child to be charted on the WHO chart which is based on breastfeeding infants not formula fed.

Re: Is this normal?

Well I weighed him this morning and he is at 6 lbs 4.5 oz. So weighing at the same time, he gained 1/2 an ounce over 24 hours. Not great but not bad.

DH talked again to the old Ped today and they were not happy that we are leaving. They want us to come in and sign for records release. So we will do that Saturday.

Re: Is this normal?

Uggg I hate the doctor break-up. My old OB saw my name on the board at my last delivery(midwife) and popped in to say hi. Very sweet but awkward. I am so glad you found a more supportive practice. Hang in there

Oh Jen NO! Maybe because your breast is not being emptied? I hope the OB can help right away. You are one tough mama

What would you do for your child that saved your life? How could you ever repay them?

I think what this is is stress and maybe I squeezed to hard at the pump.

DH can't take off today so ODS is going to be in front of the TV all day. Sadly.

Go to bed with your baby skin to skin, that should take care of the mastitis! Antibiotics won't hurt either. Your ODS will be fine with a TV day. This too shall pass... Hang in there mama. You are awesome!!

Mastitis is better but now we are at a children's hospital because of his weight issues. We have been here since Wednesday night.

We are doing pre and post weights and it seems I need a boost in my milk. About doubling would be ideal.

Looking into drugs now.
