don't read here often but...

my neighbor is killing me. She cooks with GOYA ALL THE TIME!! Now there was a time in my life when I lived with a bunch of Dominicans and Peutro Ricians and they used goya seasoning, she is killing me, from the looks of it it is filled with artificial flavorings and well crap food dye and all. It smels so good and makes my food seem so bland . My stomach is aching!! What can I use to make the same flavor and taste without Goya? Pease help, I am about to give in. and I remember my friends you did not turn down a meal HELP me spice up my dishes without introducing artificial flavors. I use onion and garlic all the time what else do i need and HOW. HOW is the big part!! TIA

This gives some options: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/695947 Hope that helps. My latina cousin would insist on adding the saffron though, which can be pricey.

Thanks ladies, I wrote them both out and will have to pick up a few spices next grocery trip but will try!! I think our local store has spices in buck so maybe I can try a little Saffron if it is expensive.

I really like this website for recipes, especially the box-mix imitation (but with real ingredients) recipes. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/c...ecipes/?view=3
