Re: Boppy vs My Breast Friend

I just used a couple of throw pillows when I was at home. When out, I would prop up a knee to support baby. I know that's not what you were asking, but I thought I'd throw it out there

Re: Boppy vs My Breast Friend

I have tried both and I love My Breast Friend for many reasons.

1. like a pervious poster says it tightens around you so you can walk around the house while nursing leaving one hand free.

2. It is nice and firm. Has a large "platform" for the baby to rest comfortably on.

3. You can place it up high just below your breasts which is nice when you are just learning to breastfeed.

4. It allows you to use a nursing cover and have it not touching the baby. Makes a nice little "tent" for the baby.

I wish I would have had it with my first 2 babies. I am using it now with my 6 day old.

I only had a boppy but I hated it. I had to prop up the boppy with another pillow under it... What is the point of that?

It got a lot of use in other ways: keeping baby propped up for reflux relief, tummy time, as a doughnut pillow for me to sit on when my girly bits were most sore/swollen. As a breastfeeding aid though? Useless.

Totally agree. I needed like 3 pillows underneath to get baby high enough to nurse when I was first learning.

The boppy pillow really did not work for us, I had to keep adjusting it to get it to stay and the baby kept rolling into a weird position. I havent tried the my breast friend, but I would like to give it a try this time around =)

Re: Boppy vs My Breast Friend

I tried both with my first baby, the breast friend won with no contest. I just felt that the boppy didn't really provide much support and I had to keep him from rolling inward towards me while trying to keep him latched. The breast friend was heaven-sent after that, I used it the entire year of breast feeding.

I believe that the boppy has a new version that addresses some of the previous issues, but I am not going to mess with what works for me just yet.

I had both and preferred the boppy. The thick foam that goes behind your back on the MBF made sitting in a chair really uncomfortable for me - my back hurt every time I tried it.

Re: Boppy vs My Breast Friend

I liked the boppy over the breast friend because I didn't have to strap it all the way around me every time I want'ed to nurse esp. since I had usually already grabbed DD and only had one hand free.
