night wetter im lost...

Ok im not sure if this is the correct place for this its been months since ive posted and im rusty ok I have a 3 almost 4 year old who stays dry during the day but still wets in her sleep I didnt go through this with my older girl so I didnt stock up on night trainers or do any asking about brands of night pull ups...right now we are using pull ups but im getting tired of paying for them lol plus they irritate her butt cheeks which in turn causes boils (ouchie). So I have a skinny tallish (wears a 4 length but can wear a 24 months waist) who needs night time wet protection any advice on what I need so im not washing bedding every day? I still have 12 brown edge pfds but she refuses to wear them :/

Re: night wetter im lost...

My 4 yo is a nighttime wetter, and his older bro was one until he turned 5. My 4 yo often refuses his night diaper, he tells me it's too "paddy" or too "bumpy" or other cute descriptions I just make him wear it anyway, and then he wears his undies over it. Half the time he wears a sized Preston's Pants breathable fleece pocket diaper with the PP cotton insert and a hemp doubler. The other half of the time I trifold into me-made fleece wraps. I think he prefers the wraps, I hear fewer objections on those nights Maybe I am mean, there are things I won't let him have if he won't wear his diaper. The most important thing, to him, is to have the undies OVER the diaper. And I try not to call it a diaper, we call it "nighttime protection" or other euphemism.

I used pull-up trainers for DS1, but had a lot of leaking problems. They were this kind:

http://www.bumwear.com/shopping/clot...-trainers.html

I think they leaked through the side snaps, and they were really puffy AND short in the rise. He was/is thin, too, and they weren't snug enough but the rise on the smaller size (Medium) would have been too short. I'd stuff with a trifolded PF, and it was okay but not 100%. We called them his "nighttime undies" and he didn't mind wearing them even though he'd been in disposables/pull-ups his whole life until I switched to cloth. I think the kind w/o snaps probably would have been a better option.

ETA -- > So maybe try some super cute girly wraps and trifold into them, tell her that they are special soft "night wraps" or something (don't call them diapers) and maybe see if she'd be happy to wear them if she could have her undies over them

We've used Snap EZ fleece pockets and super undies. I would recommend both, maybe you could get away with stuffing the pockets with the prefolds.

I'd heard good things about motherese bedwetters as well.

Re: night wetter im lost...

We used large or extra large Motherease AIO's on my DD from 3-4.5 years old. If it's not enough, you can lay a prefold in there, too.

Re: night wetter im lost...

We padfold a flat in a wool wrap. We call it LO's "night-time underwear".

ETA: LO is four, almost five, years old...doesn't wet every night but it happens often enough that the protection is definitely needed.
