My first was an emergent c-section (baby's HR was 50 at complete, and 25 by the time we hit the OR ~5min later).

Second kiddo was a pretty standard vaginal birth (spontaneous rupture of membranes, spontaneous start of labour, no augmentation needed, no pain meds needed).

Re: Vbac vs c-section

I had 2 vba2c. I educated myself found a dr I was comfortable with, got in better mental and physical shape, kept positive, and stayed open minded.

Gl with what you choose. I was not ready to vbac with my 2nd bc of different issues during that pregnancy. So I also let my gut decide what to do.

I would try. Having a vbac was the best experience of my life.

I would highly recommend attempting a vbac. It was the most empowering experience!

Re: Vbac vs c-section

It depends on the reason you needed the C-section, but as long as they don't induce, and you're in a hospital, I think you should go for it!

Re: Vbac vs c-section

I'm going for a VBAC for sure. My emergency c-section was such a rough recovery. Each birth is different so unless you have a medical condition thats guaranteed to happen again I would suggest trying for a VBAC.

Re: Vbac vs c-section

I had a breech baby for my csection. I was able to have a vbac this last June and would HIGHLY recommend it if you can. Since mine wasn't an emergency, I was a good candidate and it went really well. Recovery from the vaginal birth was a million times better than the csection birth. I was even able to shower right after! Good luck! Listen to your doctor about the risks for your personal situation.
