Re: What's your fav. crock pot recipe?

This one didn't sound that great to me until I tried it because of all the reviews. It was AMAZING!!! The directions say use dutch oven but I used a crockpot on low all day and it was perfect!!! My kids loved it too!

Drip Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients
■1 whole Beef Chuck Roast, 2.5 To 4 Pounds
■1 can Beef Consomme Or Beef Broth
■3 Tablespoons (heaping) Italian Seasoning
■1 teaspoon Salt
■1/4 cup Water
■1/2 jar (16 Oz) Pepperoncini Peppers, With Juice
■Buttered, Toasted Deli Rolls

Preparation Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a heavy pot or dutch oven. Stir lightly to combine seasoning with the liquid.

Cover and bake in a 275 degree oven* for 5 to 6 hours, or until meat is fork-tender and falling apart. **If meat is not yet tender, return to oven for 30 minute intervals till it's tender!**

Remove from oven. With two forks, completely shred all meat, leaving no large chunks behind. Serve immediately, or keep warm over a simmer on the stove.

You may make the day before, then store in the refrigerator. Remove the hardened fat from the top before reheating.

Serve on buttered, toasted rolls. Top with cheese and melt under the broiler if desired. Serve with juices from the pot.

Re: What's your fav. crock pot recipe?

Thank you so much for this thread. My husband works from 3p-11p and it is HARD to cook dinner with a 2 & 3 year. We love crock pots!

Not your typical crockpot food, but my favorite thing to make is cheesecake!

I just add a little vanilla to the recipe if making plain. I have added pumpkin, too!

Yummy Chicken and dumplings! Especially on a cool day.

*1 box of chicken broth
*1 big can cream of chicken
*2-3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
*1 can refrigerated biscuits
*Carrots, chopped(optional)

1/2 box of broth in crock pot, with cream of chicken. Mix. Add in boneless skinless chicken breasts. Cook low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5. When done, chicken should shred easily in crock pot. 30 minutes before done, add biscuits, may cut in halves with pizza cutter. Add to crockvpot. Add your chopped carrots. Add chicken broth if needed. (biscuits will soak it all up).

There you have it. Crock pot chicken and dumplings...Yummy. :3

Turkey Chili, we all love it and its great with cornbread if you have time to bake it.

20oz. Jenny O Lean Ground Turkey (cooked)
20oz can of diced tomatoes
1 can of dark red kidney beans (undrained)
1 packet of chili seasoning mix
1/2 onion -diced
3 celery stalks - diced
1/2 sweet red pepper - diced
salt and pepper to taste

I cooked it on high in the crock pot for 4 hours, but you can also do low for 6-8 hours depending on how much time you have.

Re: What's your fav. crock pot recipe?

Sharing this from another forum I belong to0 because it sounds really good. I want to try this tomorrow.

Cranberry Pork Roast

3 pound lean, boneless pork loin roast
14 ounces canned whole berry cranberry sauce
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
2 Tablespoons water

1. Heat large, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with nonstick spray. Add roast halves, browning on all sides. Place roast halves in the insert of a slow cooker that has been sprayed with nonstick spray.
2. In a medium bowl, mix cranberry sauce, brown sugar and mustard; pour over the roast in the crockpot. Cover with lid; cook on HIGH for 1 hour. Reduce to LOW and cook 6 hours. Remove roast from crockpot, reserving cranberry mixture in crockpot. Set roast aside; keep warm.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until well mixed. Scoop cranberry mixture into the large bowl and then whisk cornstarch and cranberry mixture together. Place in the microwave and cook on HIGH for 2 minutes, or until thickened.
4. Place pork roast on platter and use two forks to shred it apart. Top with cranberry sauce and serve immediately.

Chicken breasts and salsa, let cook for several hours on high and then shred the meat… easy peasy chicken tacos

I love this one but usually add a packet of taco seasoning (or homemade usually). I also put in corn and black beans at times. I usually do slow for 8 hours as it's on while I'm at work.
