Don't let the school telling you that they don't think it is an issue stop you. Many school districts are low on funds and don't refer until they absolutely have to.

Your mama sense is telling you there is something that needs to be looked at, his teacher has validated your concerns and added some very valuable observations.

Please call and get an appointment as soon as you can.

I think you should get him evaluated, it will give you a starting point for helping him, and you may get in touch with some great resources. You sound like a caring mom who wants to do the best thing for her child, many hugs to you.

Behavior wise he sounds so much like my 4yo DS. I often worry that something is wrong but have put off evaluation also (similar birth experience, too! Arrived at the hospital at 7cm, but only because dh insisted we go)

I would definitely get him evaluated based on his repetitive behaviors, tensing of his body and the fact that he had such trouble interacting with peers.
