I'd say we're open to life. People make fun when I say I would like many children (only have one so far!), but I explain by saying: I'm not in a race to have the most, we just want as many as The Lord would bless us with!

I grew up in an independent baptist church, attended an Acts 29 church when I lived in Columbus (which I believe is technically Baptist), and am currently at an apostolic church (where my husband grew up). None of them are particularly open to life/quiverful, but they definitely aren't opposed. I have known several large families who live in a "quiverful" sort of way. I have to say that a dear sweet friend of mine at church with (almost) 5 kids, who I would call quiverful, actually grew up in the Mennonite church. They seem to be more... Pro-quiverful? Maybe a Mennonite can enlighten us all.

For clarity, Catholicism isn't a denomination. Protestant religions are.
I like just better than grave. I had never looked up the exact wording before, so this is good to know. I agree about it not being a denomination and I wasn't saying it was just answering her question about our beliefs.

Re: What denomination are you?

We are non-denominational. However, we have also attended several Baptist churches over the years, mostly Southern Baptist. I also grew up in a Baptist high school and went to a Baptist college. I believe pretty much the same things they do...But, I'm non-denominational...

I don't know what we are with regard to our fertility. We don't fit the labels. Bottom line, we pray about it and follow where we feel God leading us.

For the 6 children we have, we did IVF. We prayed about it before hand. We felt very strongly that God was calling us to IVF with the commitment to transfer all babies (embryos) created to me, no matter if that was 0 or 20 and that we were to be committed to having as many (or as few) children as the process brought us. We had 12 embryos and transferred all 12. (2 at a time.) I have 6 children from that.

As of right now, we are done with any treatment to bring on more babies. However, I would really like one more and my husband would be happy to have another also. We just don't feel called by God to do any more treatment. So, we do what we do and pray for a spontaneous miracle. We don't actually try. Trying is too heartbreaking month after month. We just definitely don't prevent. And I pray a lot.

That is what we are. LOL!

Re: What denomination are you?

I grew up independent Baptist and now go to a GARB (Greater Association of Regular Baptists) church. My conviction to not prevent or actively try an just let God give us however many He want with His timing is not necessarily one held by Baptists at large. I suppose my views line up closely with those who call themselves "quiverful", but I don't like putting labels on things, and sometimes "movements" like that get a bad rep. of women in repressive/abusive situations/legalism, etc. God loves children, and so do I.

Re: What denomination are you?

We are Christian and currently attend a baptist church, but when it comes to our faith, we go wherever the Lord leads us. We're open to life I suppose. We don't use contraception of any kind, just LAM and NFP. We would love to have about 4 children but will not go to extreme measures to prevent more, so we may have more (we only have 2 right now). I fear having more than 4 for financial reasons (not sure we can afford it) and I am not sure I could handle more. We'll see what God has in store though.
