How many bottles for twins?

My sis in law is having twins!! I am so excited

She bottle fed her 1st 3 kids & will try nursing again but if she isn't successful at nursing she will need bottles.

The playtex drop ins are the ones she wants & they are 50% off right now so I want to buy her enough for her twins.

How many 4oz & 8oz ones should I get for full time formula fed twins?
Thanks!!

Hmm not sure but maybe like 16 bottles and then some extra nipples (since the drop ins have throw away bags) that would be 8 per baby. Does she have a dishwasher? If not maybe a few more. It has been so long since I have bottle fed and I have never had twins. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in

Re: How many bottles for twins?

You may have already purchased things already, but for our twins we used about 16-4oz bottles we just now transitioned to 8oz bottles we only use 8 bottles in our rotation. It's good to get enough of the next size up nipples because ours twins got so tired with the newborn nipples. Our twins are now almost 4 months old, we like to hand wash our bottles after every feeding other than late at night. We prefer not to even bother with our dishwasher to wash them, we do sterilize the bottles as well so a nice sterilizer would be great also. Hope this helps!

Re: How many bottles for twins?

Sorry to chime in so late...if I were full-time bottle-feeding, I'd want 10-12 in each size. I don't let bottles sit for too long, but I also don't get right up from a feeding to wash them, either. I'd like to have enough that I could wash twice a day if needed...I'm amazed at how I need to sneak or steal time just to do basic household duties b/c the kids just need so much.
