Lactation cookies?

I'm pregnant with # 4. With # 3 I had a very low milk supply (unlike with #1 when I had enough go feed a village!) I'm hoping tins isn't the case again this time. But if it is-has anyone heard of lactation cookies? I read on a forum I'm on of a lady who makes them and others swear by them! Anyone make them and do they work? Wants in them??

Re: Lactation cookies?

I've used them. They are yummy & worked great to help em pump more when I worked.

The main things that make them work is oatmeal, wheat germ, flax seed & brewers yeast.

2 tablespoons flax seed meal

1/4 cup water

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

3 egg yolks

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup brewers' yeast

1 tablespoon wheat germ

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

2 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats

1 cup chocolate chips

I make lactation cookies and granola bars. My DH actually loves the too and brought the granola bars into work. His coworkers (all men - automotive techs) devoured them hehe. Anyway, I don't have supply issues but it certainly helped. Gatorade also makes me produce like crazy. I also have mother's milk tea which I like to drink. My DD nurses constantly (we feed on demand) so I seem to have a lot.

I hope you have no supply issues. Here are the recipes:

I've used the lactation tea, but have not heard of lactation cookies until now. I will have to give them a try!
