I'm really hungry and need to start dinner. I would really love to eat a huge plate of spaghetti and meatball, but even yogurt is giving me heartburn lately.

It's not fair!

Tums don't do enough to help. I have my next appt on Wednesday and maybe my CNM will have some better options.

Yep. I hear ya.

I wanted potatoes and DH is still working (yeah, great overtime but I miss him lol). So I made baked potatoes.

And then got heartburn so I drank some milk, took a nap. Woke up throwing up.

I hear ya mama, I hear ya. Now I'm starving again but trying to figure out what I can eat

ETA: My doc today said if it got worse he had some stuff he could prescribe me to make it stop since tums dont work (forget what he called it though)

I sure do know how you feel. The heartburn tends to win out for me though, as the pain is just too much some days. Food loses a lot of appeal when you know the fire that follows!

I finally gave up and just made the spaghetti

I figure I'm going to get heartburn either way, so I may as well enjoy the eating part, hehe. Of course, I may change my mind later tonight!

I'm definitely asking about something stronger to take on Wednesday!

When I was PG with my son, I took otc Zantac 75 as a last resort (after drinking milk or trying Tums) as recommended by my OB. It worked perfectly for me!

I've been suffering from heartburn with this PG since I was about 8 weeks along (isn't that early???) but don't feel comfortable enough taking Zantac until I'm further along.

Speaking of which, I should probably look it up on safefetus.org.....

I have the same problem and Tums don't help, no matter how many I force down.

I also have acid reflux really bad in my stomach that it sometimes makes me think I am hungry when I am not. So, I will go eat something and then it makes the heartburn even worse!

Do you all have it everyday, or is some worse then others?
I find that I have it on occasion, but when I do it is really bad.
