How to diaper on vacation and enroute...

Now, I am beginning to wonder how to work the logistics of CDing on vacation. DH is open to the idea as long as it is easy and doesn't offend (smell) the others we will be staying with along the way.

Any ideas to make it easy?

We CD on vacation just like we do at home. I have a MOE hanging wetbag and we hang that on our hotel hook in the bathroom and when its only half full I take it down to the laundrymat and wash them. I haven't actually stayed at anyones house while CDing only when traveling and in hotels. We did have my kids godmother with us once while we CDed and we never skipped a beat and she didn't care one bit. Now had I aksed her to wash them for me then.............................................. ....... Although I would NEVER do that but it was a funny thought!

When we vacationed it was always at someone's house. We just took the diaper pail with us. While we were on the road I left it in the trunk in an area that was easily accessible. Nobody ever had any problems with me wanting to wash diapers in their machines.

The best idea that someone gave me was to get some of the big ziplock bags to put the dirty dipes in. I was gone for a week and did those dipes smell, the ziplock kept it all in. The only person offended by the smell was me and the airport guy that searched the bag . The main issuse is having all the diapers you will need, and the space it takes to pack them. For a week, DD diapers filled up a carryon size suitcase. Good Luck.

yeah, they do take up a lot of room. i've taken mine with me when we went to my parents house - easy access to washing. i don't have a big wetbag (need to get one of those) so i just used gallon ziplocs that i washed out while i was doing diaper laundry so i could reuse them.

i didn't take them with us on a long road trip where we weren't going to have easy access to washing machines. we probably could have managed but we had a lot of other stuff on our minds and i didn't need the additional challenge of making sure i had enough diapers.

i'm planning to take them with me this summer when we go to the beach - since again we'll have a washer/dryer. i wouldn't though if we couldn't wash easily - i don't have enough to go for more than 3-4 days.
