My dear sweet child has only swallowed pennies, as well as a few dimes. Scared the daylights out of us the first time-- but as long as it's a penny or dime, they seem to be breathing fine-- no need for the ER and they've all passed just fine.

The first time he did it I had MIL suggest I clean that penny off and put it in his baby book.....
