Re: what exactly does a 12 month old eat and weaning ?'s
ITA with what the others have said...you don't have to wean to get pregnant (though it might sometimes help), and all babies are different. My DD didn't eat any solids til 8 months, and then most of that she spit out. She still gets most of her calories from BFing at 16 months. She loves to eat and will cram her mouth full with whatever we're eating; so yeah, we have to try to eat healthier too. (The "chipmunk effect" is really bad! A couple times she's crammed til she gagged! I thought it was cute at first--"chubby bunny"
--but now I have to work hard to give her only small pieces a few at a time.)I checked out LLL's weaning book from the public library and their advice was, "Don't offer, don't refuse." So that's what we're trying to do. String cheese, apple slices, crackers, Lunchables (I know, not the healthiest ), grapes bitten in half, canteloupe, watermelon, any kind of bread, scrambled eggs with cheese...these are a few of her favorite things.GL! --K |
