Re: My supply is GONE, help!

I am glad to hear that you are noticing a "pick up" in your supply! I'm not an expert, but it sounds like your milk supply is just fine. I don't think it would respond so quickly to a 48 hour nursing vacation if you really were or lost your supply!

I would chalk it up to a 3 month growth spurt and the very common evening fussiness.

Re: My supply is GONE, help!

My dd was born on Feb 22, so pretty close to your ds. I think she just went through a growth spurt because she was feeding every 2 hours, was very fussy, and I was pulling my hair out. It just got better this weekend, thank goodness. I would do what you said, camp out on the couch with him and feed him. That's pretty much what I did. My poor older 2 kids, lol!

I hope it gets better soon like it did with my dd! I bf my other 2 kids, too(ODD for 10.5 months, DS for 19 months), and sometimes it's challenging, but it always got better for me.

Re: My supply is GONE, help!

I agree with te past comment about babies not being able to determine when they are full after getting a bottle...I had milk supply issues with DD # 5, now 5 mos old and still EBF but some from a bottle while I work full time! I was going to say you should nurse until he doesn't want to anymore, give only 2-3 oz in bottle and if baby still cries after small amnt in bottle try to nurse again...If baby won't latch again then try soothing another way.....we had to use a cradle swing, you could try a sling as well....don't stress! Stress makes it worse trust me! And don't feel bad about giving baby a bottle of EBM, at least you are giving BM anyway you can! I have to work so DD get bottles 5 days a week but wants to nurse (even if she just had a bottle) everytime I pick her up from daycare! (side note: we use playtex drop ins nursers ONLY!)

I also second the oatmeal but some ppl say instant doesn't work for them, it worked for me...In addition other cultures recommend drink/eating hot things that are made with broth....i.e soups, mother's milk tea, oatmeal, etc....I couldn't stand the taste of the tea but they recommend honey in it (can't stand honey either!) SO I brewed mine w/ one reg. tea bag (of you fav flavor) and a little sugar!
