Why does my son pinch my nipples?

heehee it is so fun to read everyone's reply. My son really gets frustrated if I try to distract him or get him to grab at something else. It really hurts when he pinches, but he does seem to get so much enjoyment out of it. He is even starting to do it in his sleep.

My little one is only 3mo but se does this everytime on the sides of my breasts!! it hurts too lol!

Oh Gianna does this all the time. Most of the time when she's nursing on one, she'll play with the other...sometimes she'll climb up onto my lap and just tweak 'em.

I'm assuming it's just fun?

I believe it is an instinctual thing that is supposed to encourage letdown. My DS still does it and I know that there is probably no letdown at this point, but I guess he figures why not try.

Jazmyne still does it and she will be two in August. Right now, I am trying to teach her to rub/pet the other one since she is showing now end in sight in the nursing department.

It does encourage letdown. I play with one nipple while pumping the other breast to take advantage of that fact myself. It drives me nuts when dd does it though, that's why I always either cover the non-nursing breast with my hand or wear a nursing bra at all times.
