need help with blinds!!

I have awful blinds - horrible. I can't leave them down because Brian can easily get strangled in them. There are at two windows in the family room, four in the living room and two in our bedroom where the blinds go all the way down.

I need a better alternative and quick. This is getting tiring!

I need a more inexpensive route. The ones in the front room, I am willing to spend more money on.

Anyone have any ideas???

You mean like the mini blind ones?

We have the black out roller shades with valances above them so during the day they roll up and you don't even see them.

Re: need help with blinds!!

I am in the processing of making curtains for our living room - really cheap - got the material for $40 for 3 windows and 2 patio doors. I'm making the patio door curtains with a dowel rod in the bottom so I can roll it up and tie it. I will have tie-ups hanging down but not long enough for the boys to get tangled - so that means when I do roll them up, they'll be most of the way open. Does that make sense?

We only have blinds in 2 rooms - bathroom and our room. Eventually, I want those gone too. But we have kept all the blinds in case we ever move, they're here for the next owners.
