How many dried beans for a crock-pot with ham?

My mom does bacon grease...not a fave here though, lol. I usually by a pack of country ham pieces and add a few good sized chunks to our pintos. Gives it just enough kick.

If you want to cook them alone, you may want to add salt....a little at a time, taste the juices to make sure you don't get it too salty!

I just made some great northern beans and ham about a weeks ago. 1 bag for 2 and we still have a small bowl of leftovers ! (which I should probably toss out now)

Smoked sausage works well too, but I would rince it first because some can be rather salty.
