fruit flies?!

We had fruit flies we couldn't get rid of, and it turned out we had a leak under our kitchen sink. If you have a water leak anywhere, they could be breeding there.

I just was reading about someone who put an overripe piece of fruit in a glass and then covered it with plastic wrap. Punch a small hole in the plastic wrap. I guess once the flies find their way into the glass they can't figure out how to get out. I haven't tried it but will the next time we get fruit flies!

Ok i am now the official fruit fly exterminator.. lol.. just kidding, but have tried a ton of things, and here is the ultimate way. Put Apple cider viniger in a coffee cup with a little dish soap. Pour it straight into the cup so none gets on the sides. It will attract them and KILL them so you don't have to worry about getting all the alive fruit flies out of the house, it is the most effective and easy way. Good luck

I'm updating on my ball jar/apple cider vinegar/paper funnel homemade trap. YES!!!!!! It works! I've erradicated all the little beasties, finally! So definitely, give this a try...you don't even need the dish soap!

They died! Call me a sicko, but I got a lot of satisfaction out of seeing all those little corpses in there.

i tried it with just apple juice and dish soap and i didnt even get ONE! i was upset. so ill need some apple cider vinegar for sure
