Re: Do you leave stick butter out?
We put it in the fridge although I grew up with it sitting out. Alton Brown of "Good Eats" says it should be refrigerated because it goes bad after a couple of days and will not taste the same or cook the same.

We leave ours out...but in our house, we usually go through a stick in 1-2 days. My stepdad butters everything.

Re: Do you leave stick butter out?
I said "other" bc we always left some out at my parents when i was growing up, since it was easier to spread that way and we used it alot. Now that I'm married and have my own home, it's in the fridge bc dh doesn't like to leave it out, but I take small individually wrapped pats out and leave them out overnight if I know I'm going to use them the next day.
