Beef Stew recipes?

Does anyone have a good one? I have one I make on the stove that my mom handed down to me that we loooooove but I'd really like to try cooking it in the crock pot and I'm not sure how to convert her recipe. I've tried the crockpot Beef Stew recipe in the red Better Homes & Gardens recipe book (made with V8 juice) and it's just not the same....

So, what do you do when you make beef stew? It's cold and I"m in the mood for it!

I'm the lazy mom. I just buy the beef stew seasoning package and then throw in a little texas pete and salt and pepper.

Savory Stew

1-2 lbs round steak cubed
6 carrots sliced
1 onion cubed
3 cups hot water
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp worecstershire sauce
1-8 tsp garlic powder
2 bay leaves
3 large potatoes cubed
3 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp ground allspice or cloves
1 tsp sugar

Place beef, carrots, potatoes and onions in crock pot. Add water lemon juice, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, bay leaves, bouillon cubes, pepper, paprika, ground spice and sugar. Cook on low 8-10 hours

3T flour and 1/2 cup cold water
Combine flour and water and stir to form a smooth paste. Turn temp up on crock and slowly stir mix into broth. Cook 15 more minutes or until slightly thickened.
