One Step Ahead

I'm on their email list and received this last week:

As the holiday shopping season begins in earnest, I'd like to share our position on toy safety.

First of all, NONE of our toys have been affected by the recent lead paint and magnet toy recalls. There's a very good reason for this. We insist that ALL of our products be safety tested by an independent laboratory, and that includes testing for lead composition.

If an item fails any portion of the test, we simply won't sell it. This has been our practice since 1989, when my husband and I founded One Step Ahead with the safety of our own children in mind.

The reality is, most of the toys sold in this country—and all over the world—are made in China. The vast majority of them are absolutely safe. Furthermore, no matter where a toy is manufactured, even in the United States, its safety isn't automatically guaranteed. That's why we require all of our vendors to safety test their products using independent labs.

There's nothing more important than your child's safety. So as you begin your holiday toy shopping, the question to ask isn't "where was this product manufactured?" but "has this toy been safety tested?"

If it's a toy we sell, you can rest assured the answer is "YES!"

these two sites i view quite a bit with really good info for me so far, really helped me select better products and refuse some i wouldn't have know the difference between until i read these....which now makes me reallly look into stuff further before i purchase

I have bought from Fatrbrain before and they are really great
