Advice on Milk/Dairy Allergy
I wanted to see if anyone is dealing with a ds or dd w/ dairy allergies. I'm 99% positive my 1-yr. old has dairy allergies. We've tried regular milk, and she got rash on her face and neck...after that, we tried soy and she got diarrhea and lots of gas. I'm just about done nursing her, so I'm concerned that she's not getting the calcium and nutrients she needs. I've only been giving her water with a tiny bit of juice in it. Any help is welcome!!! Thanks!

Re: Advice on Milk/Dairy Allergy
DS has a bit of an allergy to dairy so we use soy and that helps. He get's horrible eczema all over his body so we switched months ago and it's eczema is so much betterR!
But you said you tried soy but have you tried rice milk? there are tons of different milks out there, so many to try

Re: Advice on Milk/Dairy Allergy
You know I just switched AJ's nite nite milk with Soy. He has been waking up everynite screaming and I think it was the whole milk. So we are testing with 2% during the day and soy at night. How does she do with yogurt, cheese etc? I know that yogurt is easier to digest and they get thier calcium and dairy.
I would call the dr and see what they say. Good luck

Re: Advice on Milk/Dairy Allergy
All of my kids were/are allergic to milk as babies - I even have to cut it completely out of my diet while nursing. They would get rashes or upset stomaches and projectile vomit (before we figured out the prob) if the soy isn't working for you, keegans mommy is right, there are other alternative, rice milk, or almond milk, or even goat milk is a lot easier to digest and not as likely to cause an allergic reaction

Re: Advice on Milk/Dairy Allergy
my dd is allergic to soy and intolerant to milk/dairy.
she is thriving on goat's milk!! I think it's Meyenbergs she was on rice milk (our decision) for about 6 weeks but lost some weight so her ped. recommended goat's milk.
