Re: how long do infant prefolds fit?
Infant prefolds (the old style with green edges) usually last us about four months. I don't like to trifold until closer to a year.

IMO the are too bulky on a nb. My babies are 8 - 8.5lbs at birth.
I love preemie pfs for the first couple of weeks then you can use as doublers. Sent from my DROID RAZR using DS Forum

Re: how long do infant prefolds fit?
For trifolding, I trifolded the short way in newborn covers then turn them longways in small and medium covers. If using pins or snappi, I like having that little bit and fold down/in in the back to make a little poocatcher flap or do the twist. I actually love the infant size because it's so versitile. I still would be using them on my dd who is 15 months but she needed more absorbency so we have sized up. I do like the sized pf's after that though

Re: how long do infant prefolds fit?
So this is probably a dumb question, but for those who say they just trifold the infant prefolds in covers and they last through PLing (or whenever) - you mean using them as doublers? Or just straight up?
Also (sorry another dumb question), why not use them trifolded when the baby is an infant? I trifold for our nb and sometimes the poosplosions leak out the sides (but still in the cover) but most of the time it's OK. Is it just to catch the poosplosions? |
