Re: What breast pump brand do you use?

Cheapie lansinoh from Target for work and hospital grade Medela for home. I like the Lansinoh better!

I love my spectra! It has the same power as the hospital grade Medela that I rented but it's lighter.

I have both the Medela and the Spectra Baby, and I much prefer the Spectra Baby. It allows you to have much more control than the Medela.

I have Medela Pump in Stlye, Spectra & Medela Hand Pump.
I really like Medela hand pump when I am at home as I can just pump quickly and cleaning is so much less.
I like Medela Pump in style for work.

Something I did not know was my insurance covered for breast pump. So something to look into!

Love my Spectra S2! I only had a hand pump for my first two babies and am loving my Spectra now with my third. It's super quiet and works very effectively!

Re: What breast pump brand do you use?

I have used the Medela FreeStyle for both of my kids and pump 2-3 times a day at work and occasional nights and weekends. It held up thru at least 9 month of doing that. Luckily, my insurance covered a new one with my second breastfeed baby so I now I have a backup. I would suggest at least checking with insurance even if it is not your favorite, you can have a backup so you don't have to hall back and forth.

Re: What breast pump brand do you use?

I've tried just about all of the closed systems (many secondhand) and ultimately felt the Spectra S1/S2 are the best - the suction is more effective with less pull than the others, even the Spectra 9 Plus, which is my second favorite b/c its so portable.

I also have to add that the flanges make a huge difference and if you are having any discomfort or difficulties with quantity it makes sense to try a few different types. I actually have my Spectra outfitted with one Medala flange and one Ameda flange - it took a while to figure out what worked best but it's important to remember that as much as we like to deny it - most boobs aren't identical.

Hope that helps
