Re: Water in pump tubing - daily after cleaning

I have the same issue. These are some good suggestions. Also,I take a wetbag and put my flanges in it and put it in the fridge at work so I don't have to wash them each time and worry about them not being dry.

I read you can use alcohol to dry it up.

To dry your tubing what hubby and I do with my medela pump is take the tubing off of the pump and get some canned air and blow that through it. It works like a charm and only takes seconds.

I always continue running the pump after each session until all of the condensation has left the tubing. If it's left in the tubing mold can begin to grow in there. I notice it seems to do it more if I'm not sitting with the bottles straight up.

Leaving the tubes on the pump, but no bottle/shield on the end, just the tubes and running it on high for for a min or two and it dries it right up. I never knew that til 2 days ago when ths lactation consultant taught me! Its so easy!

Re: Water in pump tubing - daily after cleaning

Thanks for the information. I wasn't sure of the best method to use to remove water in the tubs. My husband would wave them around and make them whistle like the old plastic air tubes I had as a kid Glad we don't have to make that kind of music anymore haha
