It's not like I'm killing her! Help!

DD screams bloody murder EVERY TIME I change her diaper. I mean like I'm killing her!

The thing that REALLY confuses me is her nanny says that DD TOTALLY cooperates when she changes her diaper. No fussing, no squirming. We compared diaper-change routines, and they are EXACTLY the same EXCEPT - the nanny uses spoises, and I use cloth (and we use different brands of disposable wipes).

Any help? Anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to the club!

just kidding, we had this problem with my 2 yo recently because my MIL was wiping the HELL-O outta him. So I got him a wipe warmer and now he loves it! I also try to give him a toy to occupy him somewhat.

Maybe your LO doesn't like the wipes you use. I know my DS is sensitive to certain kinds and will scream, squirm and cry when I use them. He is also sensitive to most diaper creams. Can't hurt to try.

I'm going to switch to cloth... I just have to find someone w/ a serger to stitch up the ends... I have a ton of receiving blankets I could cut up, I just don't know how to sew.

Maybe I can just switch to the same wipes that the nanny uses... I had thought about that, but dismissed it... are wipes really that much different?

Some wipes are really different. I have to either use cloth wipes, or the Pamper's Sensitive wipes with my kiddos. They can't stand anything else. Sorry to hear that diaper change time is such a chore. That really is so hard.

FWIW, My son acts like that regardless of who is changing his diaper, and it doesnt matter what type it is... Though he squirms more for fitteds & bulky nighttime diapers. But yeah.. doesnt matter if its a sposie or not

Re: It's not like I'm killing her! Help!

My son was like that for a long time (and still is occasionally). He threw a fit for me, but was fine for MIL, and was so-so for DH. There was no difference in what we used or how we did it; he just didn't like me apparently.

Thanks everyone - I'm going to change her wipes, and see if that helps...
