What kind of shoes for walking 10 mth old?

I need to get my dd shoes that she can wear walking around outside (like the zoo and target) She is always barefoot at home but now that she walks she wants to get down more than be carried when were at. Any suggestions?

We always used New Balance. They came in wide sizes when I couldn't find anything else to fit

So teh shoes don't have to be super flexable or soft soled? I bought (over bought) gymboree just for pics but I thought there was no way she could walk in them. Some of them have heavy soles.

Re: What kind of shoes for walking 10 mth old?

Peds recommend that until the child is 2 years old that the shoes are soft soled. We use Pedipeds here and they are wonderful! I love the styles and how soft they are. If you can't get those you could look at the Stride Rite soft sole line. They are very cute, under $30 and have a soft sole that is great for an early walker!

Re: What kind of shoes for walking 10 mth old?

Lots of people like the pedi peds, and they are nice. I wouldn't do hard soled shoes on a baby. My boys wear soft soles till at least three. I really really prefer moss feet shoes, but she doesn't make them any more. Soft Star shoes are nice and they come in either soft suede soles or a thin rubber crepe sole. THere are so many great soft shoes out there, some last and last, others wear out. And they all fit different. Unfortunately buying over the internet it is hard to try them on first. If you look at soft star they run a size smaller than they say they are. So if they say they are 18-24months they will actually fit like a 12-18months. If you print out the little sheet on their website you can compare your childs foot to the shoe size, it's a pretty neat little feature.

Also Target sells soft soled shoes in the baby section. They have some made by bobux I think. Depending on the store they may have a good selection or not. But it's worth a look. They are cheaper at Target and you can try them on to make sure they will fit. Ours carries alot of girl shoes but not so many boys.

I agree with soft star shoes...that's why I sell them in my store It's a great inbetween shoe for when they are walking and need a *little* bit of traction. I find the others to be too stiff or waaaay too thick of a sole.
