Couldn't find anywhere else to post this topic...

I'm 41 3yrs ago had my 3rd c-section and tubes tied at that time. Since then my periods have been terrible. Heavy bleeding and cramping on day 1 always debilitating. Having to either stay home or leave work, I'm a HS teacher. Anyone else with this prob??

When I say heavy bleeding I mean having to change a Super tampon every 1-2 hrs. Switched to the moon cup.... That's not convenient in the middle of the day with only 5 min between class. I was needing to change (empty) that frequently too. Started Friday evening and I didn't make it though the night....

Haven't gone to dr bc I'm afraid he will just put me on the pill to regulate.

I'm anti drug looking for some natural way to fix this.

I had those issues as well. It's called Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. I had a tubal reversal in order to get relief...It worked immediately. As as bonus we were able to have more children as well, but there are a LOT of women that have it done simply to get back to normal. I used Dr Berger in NC...I say this because I think he put some info about PTLS on his website....which I can't remember the link to, but if you Google his name it will come up

Re: 3yrs Post Tubal ligation--horrible periods

I am in the same boat. I'm only 30 but I had a tubal 3 years ago after my twins were born. Ever since my cycles have been awful. I went to my GYN a few weeks ago and she mentioned ablation. I had to have an ultrasound and blood work done to make sure there isn't a reason for the heavy periods. I go back on the 5th to talk with her about the results and hopefully schedule an ablation surgery date.

Ablation is where they permanently scar the inside of the uterus to prevent the lining from regrowing. Most women end up with either very light or NO period after the procedure.

I did have fibroid removed right after my csection in 2008. Nothing was mentioned in 2010 after my last section. I guess they can come back. I don't have insurance so I've avoided the GYN since 2010. Just had a pap with my family practitioner last week. Waiting in results. After hearing all my complaints he said I should revisit a GYN. But with I insurance I'm kinda stuck.

I started a natural progesterone "Progessence" 2 wks ago. We will see if that helps.

I had the ablation a year ago and haven't had a period since. It has been lovely!
