Selling Breastmilk on Good Morning America

http://abcnews.go.com/US/moms-sell-e...ry?id=13768179

What do you mamas think of this?

I'm extremely disappointed to see this story. Not that I think selling breastmilk is wrong. This article just leaves out some important information - especially the fact that selling breastmilk is ILLEGAL in some states.

They also fail to mention that most of the people who want to buy breastmilk are men. Sure, there are some families out there who have tons of money to spend on this, but the demand is nowhere near as high as the supply. Tons of moms are flocking to this website to sell their breastmilk with promises of big bucks. But most of their posts go unanswered.

Meanwhile, there are babies in need all over the world who are going without because there are not enough breastmilk donors.

Due to IGT, my babies have relied on donated breastmilk. If I had to pay $2/oz for milk, there I no way that I could even come close to having the money to buy it. My kids would be on formula.

THANK GOODNESS for www.milkshare.com and www.humanmilk4humanbabies.net . Thanks to those organizations, babies EVERYWHERE are getting the nutrition they need, and donor moms are racking up not the big bucks, but the big karma.
