Normal or not?

I don't know if this is a normal pregnancy thing or not as it has been 7 years since I was pg and I was so sick while pg with DD (severe kidney stones).

For the past 3 mornings I have woken up with my body hurting. And every morning it has progressively gotten worse. Also during the same time the right side of my face/jaw hurts and it hurts to chew. I do know that that is not normal for a pregnancy.

But I feel like absolute carp. I feel like I have the flu with no other symptoms. I made an appt with my doc today. I was actually afraid I wouldn't get to see him and I would have to go to an Urgent Care where they would say "oh your preg, your body is changing, you are going to feel pain." I guess you could say I have trust issues with the medical community because of my treatment between DD's pregnancy and my fatigue issues the past 4 years.

Is it normal to have all over pain like you have the flu?

I don't know but

I've been feeling really crummy 2 weeks BEFORE my missed period until now so I'm not a good judge of what is 'normal'.

Re: Normal or not?

Especially if you have been dealing with fatigue for so long, I would investigate Lyme Disease!

Re: Normal or not?

So I went to my doc at 1pm. He said I did have swollen glands on my right side. But he was shocked I was pg and asked if i was getting my tubes tied after this one! I told him it was up to DH as I was not having mine done.

He suggested I see my OB and I told him it was complicated as I was waiting to find out if I could see a midwife (insurance). He said I should see an OB and to never give birth at home! That something could go wrong. I said, "Why does everyone think that." I told him I had midwives with DS & DD and he asked why I didn't go with them. I said it was because they were in NC & VA. He laughed.

I don't know if I want to keep him as my doc. I went with him because he is a DO and more natural than any other doc. Both my chiro and the kids Ped said he is the one to go to for natural. But yet he wants a hospital birth with an OB?

Anyways he gave me an antibiotic. Though I am not 100% sure I want to take it as I don't know why I need it.

yes yes yes, it is more normal to not have the rash than to have it and untreated lymes can be super bad. I would definitely go be seen. Totally not normal IMO.

I was seen but not for Lyme. Though I am seriously considering the ER if I feel worse after my bath tonight. I never had any risk factors for Lyme though...... (live in high desert) Though I may have to research some more

ETA: Oh great I was in Seattle in April & June and was in foresty areas (overgrown backyard & camping)

Re: Normal or not?

I use the "symptom checker" on WebMD and when I put in jaw & neck pain it says to seek emergency medical attention. I do know that neck pain is serious because of Meningitis (DS had that) and jaw pain is heart issues. But what could whole body pain (muscles & joints) neck & jaw pain, and chills(but no fever) mean? I really don't think that stuff warrants the ER in and of itself but the fact I feel like carp more and more makes me rethink things.

Of course it is the WORST time to get sick as I have to go get DS from Bassoon Camp tomorrow.

Re: Normal or not?

Yup, over half the time there is no rash with Lyme. All of your symptoms are consistent, so it is a possibility.
