This is pretty much what we did too. I use my food mill for applesauce, so I don't have to peel! When we started, I decided to try making things with the appliances I already had, before buying something new. It's been great.

And I definitely recommend large batches. I try to make one or two big batches every weekend. That way, I never have to worry about making the baby a separate meal when I'm preparing dinner. Also- my DD is in daycare full time, and it is so easy to just toss a couple of cubes in a jar the night before- lunch=packed!

Glad to see people are using the baby bullet. I put one on my registry and haven't used it yet. I also bought some baby food books to give me an idea about my making my own. We're going to start soon introducing solids. Thanks for the thread and all the replies
