Stripping Thirsties Duo Pockets??

What is the best way to strip my thirsties duo pocket diapers?? Do I just strip my inserts or the covers too?

What problem are you having? I typically just do a bunch of hot washes to strip. Or you can just bleach you inserts to see if that helps.

Well why do you think they need to be stripped would be the first question? If there is diaper cream or repelling on the pockets I would scrub with a toothbrush and dawn. If you are having overall repelling I would wash them all with Dawn and lots of rinses. If it's stink then that does not need stripping but rather proper cleaning and a disinfectant.

ok they smell awful after they get wet... i think they r repelling cuz im getting leaks.... im new to this so i dont know what to do....
i only wash in bum genius soap.in hot/warm washer cycle....
i store them in a zippered top wet bag between washes
i have used diaper cream in the past but always used a liner....also have used baby powder
i also have hard water
what am i doing wrong???
what can i do...we r going out of town wed and i cant take these diapers smelling like this.

Maybe try Rockin Green Hard rock (for your hard water). Use more detergent to help get them really clean. You will probably need to do a long soak, following the directions on the package to get a good clean start. Follow up with lots of hot washes with no detergent and sun them. Try this routine: warm rinse no detergent, hot wash with detergent, 2 cold rinses

We just moved to an area with hard water and I had to start adding more detergent. It helped a lot with stink and leaks. I thought I was using too much detergent, but turns out it was the opposite!
