Recommend Good online knitting tutorial

I can crochet some but I've been wanting to learn how to knit. My grandma is the only person I know who knits but her arthritis is so bad that she barely does any. I've been trying to find something online to help me learn how to knit but I'm still not understanding it. Without literally going out and buying the knitting for dummies book, does anyone have any suggestions to learn how to knit? I don't want to do anything like the longies and stuff like that (unless I somehow magically become good at it LOL!) but I would love to make some afghans and simple stuff like that. Thank you for any helpful links! (or maybe if someone has the book to pass on LOL!)

Re: Recommend Good online knitting tutorial

I agree that knittinghelp.com is the way to go. I learned to knit English style from a book, a week ago Sunday, and then this past Sunday I learned continental from knittinghelp.com. I recommend continental, especially since you can crochet! The motion for the knit stitch is very similar to the crochet motion, and it is faster.

You might want to pick a small project to learn on, maybe a hat. There are lots of free and easy patterns out there - the Lion yarn website is a good place to look and you can easily find the recommended yarn at Joann's or Michael's.
