I'm glad I saw this thread. I was going to start with puréed and then give some more solid type food. However I feel like when I read about blw puréed food is looked down on. So it's good to know I'm not completely crazy with my game plan

Re: BLW or purees?
This is great to know! I just first read about BLW this week. I'm not sure that my 7MO is quite ready for much beyond purees right now though. She seems to gag if I give her anything that's not runny enough. :/

Re: BLW or purees?
I have started some BLW, but I plan to do some purees too.

Re: BLW or purees?
We planned to do BLW. We started at 6 months (no foods of any kind before then...only breastmilk). We did it until about 10 months at which point we switched to purees. They started choking and gagging on their foods so often that I was having serious anxiety and couldn't eat my own meals for freaking out.
If I was doing it over again we'd just start purees at 6months!

Re: BLW or purees?
BLW at 6 mos but wasn't really interested and eating until 8 mos. Was so independent wouldn't let me feed her mushy stuff
Worked out wonderfully and still going strong at 13 mos eating pretty much all foods with only 2 bottom teeth
