Thanks for the suggestions. I tried not adjusting the straps. The problem is that DS will sit on the buckles and I end up w twisted straps. When I loosen I can move the straps to the side so that he does not sit on them.

We do an RFing Graco MyRide from birth, then when they outgrow it(usually by height for my kids) a Graco Nautilus until they are no longer in a car seat(5' or 100 lbs). Two seats for the entire time they're in a car seat and maximum safety.
