Re: How much milk can you pump?

Since DS only nurses on my left side, I ep my right side. I pump every 6-8 hours and get 9 oz each time. We've been doing this for 3.5 weeks. One time I forgot my pump when we were gone all day, and when we got home I got out 14 oz! One breast! I was in pain, let me tell you...

Re: How much milk can you pump?

This is from before my DD started refusing expressed milk at about 13 months and started reverse cycling.

You can also answer here if you'd like. Here are the questions:

Q.1
What is the most amount you can regularly pump from ONE breast? *
Please make sure you are selecting the amount you pump REGULARLY from ONE breast (the one you make the most milk out of, if your supply is uneven). For example: if you can occasionally get to 3-4 ounces, but don't often go more than 2-3, respond 2-3.

* 2-3 ounces

Q.2
Do you stop pumping once you reach that amount? *

* I pump everything I have.

Q.3
Does one of your breasts produce more milk than the other? *

* Yes, 1-2 ounces less

Q.4
Pumping Habits *

* I pump while I'm at work, but then feed at the breast the rest of the day.

Q.5
How often do you pump? *
If you pump occasionally or only when you're at work, answer only for the amount of time spent between pumping sessions.

* 2-3 hours
* 3-4 hours
(This definitely varied day to day as I kept trying to find the optimum pumping schedule. It sorta felt like searching for the Holy Grail.)

Q.6
How long do you pump each breast for? *

* 20+ Minutes

Q.7
What kind of pump do you use? *

* Consumer Grade Electric

Q.8
What Brand/Model pump do you use?

Medala Freestyle

Q.9
Do you pump both sides simultaneously? *

* Yes, I use a dual pump.

Q.10
How long have you been pumping continuously? *
Please enter the amount of time that you have been pumping for your most recent LO.

* 12-18 Months
(If you count the time that I pumped before going back to work to build up the stash and the time that I pumped after she started refusing expressed milk in hopes that it was a phase that would pass.)
