Why won't she nap?!?!?!?!?!?

AGH!!!

It's so aggrivating!!

I love my daughter more than life, but I **NEED** naptimes. I need the quiet! I need the break!

She needs the nap or else she's grumpy and gets in lots of trouble.

So why the heck won't she nap?!?!?

Vent over!!!!!

Genesis is going through the same thing already. She's almost 4 so I knew it would happen eventually. But she is required to stay in her room, in her bed even if she doesn't nap.

If my DS doesn't nap (he is 4) then he must relax for an hour in his room. He does nap every other day though.

I love your avi!!!

my dd will be 3 next month. Naps are just something that's manditory! Especially since baby #3 is coming soon! I try letting her play in her room, but then she opens up her dresser drawers and climbs in them, tears apart a blanket (dh's favorite old blanket from his grandma), pulls out every bit of clothing that is NICELY folded in her dresser....oy!! She has toys in there!!!

Re: Why won't she nap?!?!?!?!?!?

No advice but lots of hugs! I know ds is in daycare and they nap the same time every day...if they don't go to sleep, which he does, they still have to lay down and rest. AT home on the weekends I don't know what I'd do without nap time...I nap at the same time. I used to let that be cleaning time but now I very rarely go without a nap on the weekends and it's nice cuddle time with DS since i miss him during the week. I like what pp's suggested at least still making her have quiet time. I've heard of 2 year old and less giving up naps...thankfully not here but you never know i guess

Maybe that's the problem? With my almost-two year old who just went into a big-girl bed, we made a "sleeping only" room. It has a bed and a few books in it-- that's all. If there were toys she's get up and play. I don't know if that's an option for you, but it has worked really well for us.

We put them in there in hopes of her not tearing up her room. She doesn't even play with them...she still tears up her room!

Non-toys are always better than toys, huh? With you being so pregnant and it causing such a mess (and stress) can you take the dresser out of her room for a while? Or whatever she's tearing apart? It might be a pain, but maybe less of one than her tearing everything up all of the time.

Could she sleep with you for naptime? That was about the only way I would get a nap when my daughter was that age and I was expecting.
