Welcome Jackie! So sorry about your loss and your need to be here with us. I had a m/c back in 2006 around 6-7w (no d&c needed) and ended up pregnant the very next cycle with DS1. I went on to have a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy.

Re: Pregnancy After Loss (Feb 15-28)

thanks everyone! I'm starting to feel more human, so quick update (and hopefully you can see the picture this time) . I woke up at 2am in labor and he was born at 5:26am weighing 7lbs10oz, 19" long. He was born at home and in water and another fun fact is that he had 2 knots in his cord! I was actually holding back to wait for the midwife to get here but as soon as she walked in I pushed his head out. Jonathan got to catch him in the pool. He's doing beautifully and he's already nursing. I'm exhausted, but so happy. The kids are over the moon. It was an awesome birth (although extremely intense since it was so short!)
Definitely add James and me to the rainbow list
Here is another picture of him:

Congrats, Sarah! I'm over the moon excited for you!!!!

Welcome, Jackie! Sorry for your loss, but I'm so happy that you get a bit of sunshine in a new pregnancy. It is really, really hard sometimes when you're expecting a rainbow...the emotional roller coaster can be overwhelming sometimes. This group really helps, though.

I've been MIA again, so welcome to the other new mamas! I've been following along, and you're all in my thoughts and prayers

I'm 37 weeks along! Yay for full term! I've got GD for the first time, and so I've been going for twice weekly NSTs. Baby girl looks fantastic, and we're just so excited to be meeting her soon. I'm nervous, too, as only a rainbow mama can be, but I'm doing my best to push the scary thoughts away. There's just so much good to focus on...it is going to be okay.

Oh he's so beautiful, Sarah! I guess all that prodromal labor was working its' magic so you could have a quick L&D! Scary re: the cord, but the things we don't know about ahead of time are an awesome thing sometimes! Hope that made sense. I'm super paranoid and scared about a cord accident happening during delivery tomorrow. I ask at every u/s where the cord is at. I'm sure MFM won't be sad to see me for the last time tomorrow!

Adding you to the rainbow list now!

Wow! Congratulations!!!! Did any of your other boys have cord issues? We lost DD because her cord was twisted, never had other cord issues that I was aware of. So awesome that he is here!!! Enjoy your baby moon mama!!!!!

On Feb 10th I found out that I'm expecting again. I was absolutely shocked. We weren't trying or even thinking about a baby back in January. I think I may have o'ed around Jan 7th. So the baby should be 6 weeks passed ovulation/ conception but every pregnancy calculator says I'm 8 weeks. I'm trying not to be nervous about this and I haven't felt at ease to join the pregnancy board, but here I am. I need support and don't know where else I should go. I am especially nervous because I didn't have a cycle since the d&c and I've been told my risk for another m/c is higher because of this. If anyone here has some comforting words for me, I would really appreciate it!
Congrats and , mama.

FWIW, 6 weeks past conception is 8 weeks pregnant - they calculate from LMP, which gives the "extra" 2 weeks.
I have had things go both ways, another m/c and also healthy pregnancies, after my losses, and have heard many mamas have healthy pregnancies after their losses, so I wouldn't put too much stock into there being more of a risk.

and for your bean!

37 weeks?!!! Sorry about the GD, but glad things are looking/going well.
You'll get there. One day at a time.

Re: Pregnancy After Loss (Feb 15-28)

Andrew had the cord around his neck once, Luke twice, but no issues. I was so scared about something happening to the cord too, but even with 2 knots he is perfect.

and for all the mamas here!

Welcome! (although I'm sorry you have to be here) I got pregnant with this baby (15 weeks 5 days today!) right after a miscarriage in late october. I've never been able to find any convincing data that there is a higher risk if you get pregnany right away after a miscarriage. I honestly think that the doctors recommend waiting so that they can have a LMP to date your pregnancy from.
