Re: Anybody using Coconut Oil?
We use it for a lot of things too!
lotion in our deoderant recipe (1/4c of arrowroot powder, 1/8c of baking soda, 4 tbsp of coconut oil and lavender for DH, and Orange oil for me. Diaper cream Hair (especially dd who has super curly knotty hair) Cooking I mix it in our dogs dry food, as well as our kitty's I put it on the dogs after their bath I made a cocoa/lavender lip balm, tastes fantastic ![]() I've heard you can whip it and it stays fluffy, so it's more like a cream, I'm going to try that next.

Didn't read all the responses but we brush our teeth with it and use it for teeth pulling. You can add baking soda to it for abrasiveness and even a little peppermint oil if you like, but we just do coconut oil and baking soda. Haven't bought tooth paste in years and none of the kids have gotten cavities.

Re: Anybody using Coconut Oil?
When using it on hair, I've found that a little goes a long way. I can put it in my 3 yr old's hair & brush it in. I can even brush it in somewhat on my 11 yr old's hair, but it's better for her if it's put in before she showers. Just let it soak for 30 min or a couple of hrs, then wash it out.

Re: Anybody using Coconut Oil?
I didn't completely read the previous 5 pages so excuse me if I repeat something.
Deep conditioner for hair Scalp treatment Whip with shea butter and/or other oils for moisturizer/lotion lip balm Deodorant (I just put it right on my pits and rub in, I stay odor free for about 2 days!) Put on toast with cinnamon Butter replacement Rub on my cat Never thought of the toothpaste, gotta try that one! |
