Re: What did you do for your planned c-section...

I asked my OB about this today and she said that they dropped my blood pressure too fast in the c-section and that caused me to feel like I did then. She said that I can talk to the Anatheseialogist (can never spell that word!) and tell them that I threw up the last time and they will do it more carefully this next time.

Just wanted to share.

The anesthesia always makes me vomit. Even when I have fasted.

Re: What did you do for your planned c-section...

I didn't the first c-section and I thought it was because I was already in the hospital for a month at that point and didn't have ice cream the night before. However clearly that wasn't the case.

I would have never guessed that this is what happened. I really did think it was all me.

The nurses may be able to give you something. No matter what, the surgery is not going to be comfortable. Also, you can't eat anything, so you may not have heartburn that day. Good luck!!

Re: What did you do for your planned c-section...

This was my second c-section last time. I am going into my 3rd. All planned. So I know it wasn't something I ate. My OB knows better then to BS me now. I am a very demanding patient. And I mean that in the most positive way possible!

Could you have an over abundance of acid in your stomach? Maybe start taking an antacid a week or two before? Can you lay flat while pregnant without getting heartburn? Sorry if you stated that before.

Re: What did you do for your planned c-section...

I couldn't with ODS but I can now. Not sure why as this little one has his head on my stomach right now. I also had to get an MRI a bit over a week ago and I was okay for that. Honestly a c-section doesn't take much longer then an ab and pelvis MRI... only I don't have to hold my breath!

I had a c a week and a half ago, and the OB actually told them to give me Pepcid and....ugh, can't think of it now, it was another stomach med before the section. I asked the nurse why and she said it was preventative.
