recommend toddler sunglasses and sunscreen

my dd keeps wanting to take my sunglasses so it's time to get her own pair. what kind do you recommend? (preferrably $10 or less)

also what kind of sunscreen do you recommend for little ones? natural is a huge plus. my healthfood store didn't have any burts bees sunscreen, do they even make it?

(btw, burt's bees insect repellent works)

Re: recommend toddler sunglasses and sunscreen

The last time I was in Target they had toddler sunglasses with the headband on them for $5.99 (I think, but it might have been $6.99). They also had infant sizes.

I got some of them and they arent very well made especially for an active toddler, they are REALLY hard crunchy plastic.

I got Baby banz for DD, kids banz for DS and got DS some regular sunglasses from Childrens Place for DS as well. The CP sunglasses are a hard yet somewhat flexible rubber stuff and the lenses are shatter resistent.
I havent gotten the Banz in yet but theyt are top selling from what I have found.

Re: recommend toddler sunglasses and sunscreen

Oops! I hadn't tried them! When the boys were little I couldn't find anything like that in stores, I ended up ordering them from one step ahead. I was actually thinking of getting an infant pair for the baby from Target but I won't now.....thanks!!

they are like grown up sunglasses. DS loves them and they are pretty hard to break.

Any that they will keep on but they must be taken to an eye doctor and tested for the uv ray protection...most will do it free.Just because they have that sticker that says they are safe many tested have not had the protection they claim-this goes for you mommas as well
Just had a big thing on the news about a week ago on sun glasses myths and truths.I did take our kids glasses last week and both passed-Both Disney

We have some from Target and they've held up to a lot of abuse.

To the OP I will say that just because your child likes to play with your sun glasses doesn't mean they'll wear their own. DD loves mine but rarely will wear hers this summer. Last year she was pretty good about wearing glasses but this year usually only in the car at night (defeats the purpose of them but she's happy).

Re: recommend toddler sunglasses and sunscreen

we went to CP tonight and found some. they are 2/$5 or 3.85 for 1 pair. she picked out a pair of pink ones that are almost in the shape of hearts. she loves them, wore them through the mall, target, in the car and at home until she had to take them off to get in the tub!
they seem sturdy and were cheap enough it won't hurt me if they do break.
