Re: When is a baby no longer considered a "newborn"?

I think it depends. I think once they loose the head bobble and start getting lots of chub they are infants. I have big kids (over 9 pounders) and my 2nd was so chubby from the start she never seemed like a nb. My 3rd is 8 weeks and seems to be transitioning into an infant and holding her head really good. She's getting cheeks, too.

That's my

ETA: I believe (don't quote me on this) that the toddler stage is named after toddling. When the baby is walking in that toddle manner.

I think around 3 months they move from newborn to baby... now I can't stop calling my almost 18 month a baby though, she walks, talks and but still my baby since she is my last.

I think once they start smiling and making sounds other than crying...like coos and ahh's and ooh's. I guess I think of it more along a developmental timeline than with weight or size!
