That's an awesome deal!! My stepson liked legos (can also be bought on ebay by the pound), model rockets, an aircraft carrier w/ diecast planes and later snap circuits. Snap circuits use batteries, but are a lot more open-ended and educational than most battery operated toys.

My son is 7.
Oh my goodness, Mario, wii, legos, wii, Mario, kindle, wii, wii, Mario, legos, wii, wii, and wii.

He loves wii.

When he can't play with wii, and he cant get creative to what to do, he then plays with legos.

He also loves playing outside in the backyard or going for jogging with his dad or mom.

He likes to play with his kindle too.

He also enjoys baking, and monopoly and chess, if he can keep all the pieces from being lost, that is.

He likes learning how to skateboard.

He likes hanging out with his friends at the park.

when he is not in a creative mood though, it's wii, legos, kindle, wii, legos, kindle, wii, legos kindle will be the pattern he will choose.

I got my kids a set of these for Christmas (they had them at Costco), and they like them. I love that they encourage creativity! This is a different brand, but it's similar ( here).



Other than that, his main interests are Legos and books!

It's already been said multiple times but legos are the winner over here too. My oldest son will be 8 in May and its hard to keep legos out of his hands or his head out of a lego book. He hardly makes anything by a manual anymore, he could make his own filled with all the things he has created. Sometimes I'm amazed at the things his mind works up! =)

Other than legos:

K'nex
Lincoln Logs
Dirt & rocks
Cereal/snack boxes, egg cartons, etc..I can't throw anything away over here!
He loves to read

Basically he likes to make things with his hands. Hope this helps!

My son is nine and he loves to figure stuff out, whether it's science or mechanics he will mess with it all day long. He loves books like The Way Things Work and The Big Book of Science Experiments.
