What would you do with this tattoo (cover up)

So I got my ex's name tattooed on me 10 years ago. we divorced last summer and I would like to get a cover up. I had considered just getting it removed but I like tats and want to do something cool with that area (maybe later I will get some shoulder/upper arm stuff done)

So the question is what do you think I should do, reference pics wanted as well.

not sure how big they would have to do it to cover it up, but i think it would work. the sparrow tattoo also can work well with tons of other stuff if you decided to add more to it later on

Get yourself a tattoo that represents the kids and get that design under it to going towards the left where you only have 1 leaf. Your tattoo looks a lot like the one I have on my shoulder, but on my right side..lol

I definitely like vines and probably want a lot going up my shoulder and toward my neck.

Maybe make it in to a garden with fairies or a tree... celtic type with knots and vines. That would cover it right up and be beautiful too.

A friend ran into that recently. Luckily her son's name is the same just a Jr. So she had the name redone to be fresh with Jr added. I like the idea of vines and leaves and stuff.

Look around at local artists and find out who is really good at coverups and talk to them for some ideas. I had two friends who wanted coverups one had some grand ideas but when the artist looked at the piece he had to shoot down all of them because they just wouldn't work. He walked her through a bunch of ideas and ended up getting something she loved and looks stunning! The other friend went in with an idea the guy did it and its OK, you can still clearly see a lot of her old piece under the new work which is sad cause it was good work, but not a good coverup.

A good artist can work in what you have to make a piece that looks like first time work instead of just a need to coverup something. That right artist is sometimes harder to find then the first artist, but a good one is worth finding.

I agree with her. Cover-ups can be really tricky and if you're looking for something that will truly cover the old one it'll probably have to be 2-3 times bigger than the original.

It would suck to get your heart set on something and find out when you go to get it that it won't work.
