night terror?

So I just put my son to sleep about a half hour ago (he's 7.5 months old) and all of a sudden I heard him screaming. It sounded like a hungry cry so I went in and picked him up but when I picked him up he was totally limp!!!! It freaked me out but just from the time I picked him up to the time I was holding him with his head on my shoulder he stopped crying and was asleep again. I laid him back down and he stayed asleep. It was really weird that he was totally limp, and not really awake but screaming. I think the whole thing lasted less than 5 mins.......any opinions?

How scary for you! We are dealing with these with our almost 3 year old. I would call your pediatrician and see what they say.
