I just feel depressed all the time...

I feel like I am fighting a losing battle with my baby's eczema and diaper rash. It's been a month and nothing is helping yet. I just feel like it's all overwhelming, I don't even know where to start. I feel like with DD1 we just do the same things everyday. She whines all the time and is a misery to be around. I don't feel like I'm a good enough mother to them. I can't solve my baby's mysterious problems and she is scratching all night long because it's itchy. I rarely get a good night's sleep because of that mainly. I am rushing around all the time trying to get things done but the house is a mess regardless.

Sigh. I just feel sad about it all and want to cry every day. I don't want to have any more kids because both of them have food allergies and I don't want to go through this stress again. I did everything 'right', breastfed, delayed solids... why do they have allergies? I just need a shoulder to cry on. Thanks for listening. I don't know where else to turn.

I'm so sorry that you and your daughters have to go through so much. You must be an amazing mama to care about your children so much! I know I feel horrible that my daughter always seems to have ear infections and bad colds/allergies. I hope things get better for you soon.

I am feeling the same way right now and basically had a breakdown on Monday and cried most of the day.
I made an appointment with my midwife for next week to talk about it. BTW our kids are almost exactly the same age (11/07 & 12/09 and only 3 days apart). Between the 2.5 year old whining constantly at the 8 month old for getting into her stuff and the 8 month old just getting into all the stuff and not wanting to sleep because he just needs to move move move... it is a hard time.

No advise, just total understanding and commiseration and we don't have an issue of allergies which is a whole 'nother ballgame.

I hear ya on the food allergies. My son is allgeric to eggs and peanuts. His excema flares up when he eats eggs. We where trying all kinds of creams(prescription and others) and found nothing until I gave cj BUTTer a try. It works wonders. We used it twice a day and within days it was disapearing. Give it a try
I would also go to the Dr. or give your Dr a call and say you are having a hard time and feeling depressed. Ask for help!!! It will make you a better mommy for you and your children. (((((HUGS)))))

Have you tried taking DD1 to a ped dermatologist? I'm sure you've done everything so forgive me if it's a silly question. I just know that he gave ODS some itch meds to help with his eczema and the itching at night so he'd sleep thru the night. It's been a God send! It's Hydroxazine?! I think I'm saying it right... only Lord knows if I'm spelling it right! LOL. Just a thought! I hope you find some answers soon and I'd definatly talk to your doctor about your feelings, it will make you feel better and maybe they can help you. Take care of yourself and then you will be in good health, and spirit to take care of those precious girls!

ETA: cleaning house with little kids is like shoveling snow when it's still snowing... it's pointless! My house is ALWAYS a mess!

To the OP - I'm so sorry you feel so awful. Can you find a counselor? I need to find one again - my last one was such a huge Godsend! I definitely know some of the feelings you're talking about. Lately I've been in a funk and DH is even getting frustrated because he can't figure out what's wrong with me or how to connect. You're not alone!!!

DDhad constant diaper rash for a long time. I tried every stupid CD fabric out there and finally went to Grobaby hybrids with the biosoakers. She has been rash free ever since.
