Vegan Party Food
I know I'm thinking about this a little ahead of time, but I am pretty much obsessed with food so I need to plan NOW!

Re: Vegan Party Food
Guacamole is a must, with baked pita chips.
Fruit Salad Some sort of baked pumpkin or squash dish with brown rice. Garlic Bread with earth balance as butter -I find that given some type of bread, most meaties will feel thier fill with a nice warm bread. Large green salad with tones on "junk" on it (nuts, fresh berries, veggies) have some ground flax to sprinkle on top and see who maybe will try something new. I have a recipe for no bake vegan cookies.....I will have to find it. You could also make a baked eggplant dish with tomato sauce and ww pasta. Have nuts and dried fruits as picky's at the beginning. Some hummus and cut up pitas/flat bread If you are looking for a casserole type dish, I love this coconut curry crockpot dish that I make. I usually put it ontop of couscous. Don't worry about having a vegan affair, people should be there to experince the joy of the birthday, the company and not worry about if they are getting the food the usually eat. You just might turn someone towards a more plantwise diet Good Luck and have fun with it! |

Re: Vegan Party Food
Sloppy lentils are great. You can make them in the crock pot and it makes a ton. Lentils are filling and easy to keep warm in the crock and self serve them. (On buns).

Re: Vegan Party Food
We usually do mexican food. I make a huge pan of enchiladas and we have homemade guacamole and salsa, vegan sour cream, bean dip, tortilla chips, etc. People LOVE "chip and dip" at parties.

Re: Vegan Party Food
At our DD's first birthday party we had a variety of snack-type foods like mock "chicken" salad, oatmeal cranberry cookies, humus, pita chips, fresh fruit and veggies, and of course vegan cupcakes for everyone.
