with summer winding down up here fruit is going on sale and i would love to make some crisps! apple, blueberry, peach etc! share your fave recipes!!!!

I love this apple crisp recipe, but I love it even more when I double the crisp part. I have used the same recipe for peaches, and it turned out great!

Mix and set aside:
1/4 cup flour
4T butter or margarine (butter is better)
1/4 cup plus 2 T brown sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 T quick oatmeal

Mix together and place in a 2 quart glass casserole dish (or any 8x8 pan)
4 apples of your choice sliced
dash of salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 t cinnamon
1 T tapioca

Top with oatmeal crumb mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes, until golden brown.

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar (can use plain white, brown or a mix of both)
6 Tbsp cold unsalted butter cut into small pieces
1/3 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup chopped nuts of your choice
pinch each of nutmeg, cinnamon and salt

mix and put over your fruit before baking. I like this best over granny smith apples macerated in a little lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon and flour. Usually bake at 375 F for 30-45 min
