thoughts on which bike to get?

I'm getting my youngest a b day present.

I want to get her a "big girl" bike so she can go on the sidewalk like her sisters.

Here's what I'm looking at:
a Strider:

http://www.mystriderbike.com/?gclid=...FVVx5QoddzXA4w

or a Skuut:

http://www.skuut.com/

Anyone prefer one or the other??

I have one that is like the Skuut. I find that the seat doesn't get as low are other strider bikes do.

The strider looks very cool. My 8 year old needs one in his size.

We bought this one from walmart... we love it for our 29-month-old. It was a super cheap alternative for us and he loves it. I do like the look of the strider, though!

Re: thoughts on which bike to get?

I just bought a Boot Scoot Zoomer for my almost-2-year-old DD. I admit that I chose it because it was a combo of both cute and affordable, which seemed hard to find! It also has a fairly low stepover height. We haven't given it to her yet--we're waiting for her birthday--but it is so cute!

ETA: it's so new on the market that there aren't many reviews. The instructions for assembly were pretty crazy, but my DH is an engineer, so he powered through it. But it seems very high quality overall.

Re: thoughts on which bike to get?

My daughter hated the Skuut bike and the Radio Flyer trike, but loves her Fisher Price bigwheel style bike. We don't have the handle on the back, though. The seat is very adjustable. She is still riding it daily at almost 4, but isn't so fond of the big girl bike I got her (Dora with training wheels).

Re: thoughts on which bike to get?

We just bought a Kinderbike Laufrad for our very tall two year old. The company we bought it from said that the Strider was really the only metal frame bike that works well for short or average two year olds.

We bought from http://www.kidsbalancebikes.com/ and found their CS super helpful. DH and I each sent them questions that they responded to quickly. The info on their site looks like the Skuut would be too tall for your daughter right now.

Re: thoughts on which bike to get?

We got one of these (https://glidebikes.com/) for our 22 month old. DH did lots of research and found that the wood ones weren't as durable and that foot pegs/foot rests were a major plus in actually learning balance.

Without seeing the wee-rider IRL it's very similar and much cheaper. We had some heartburn when we saw that but it's hard to find every type/brand since their name varies and we get a couple extra inches of use.

DH said assembly was very easy.

Re: thoughts on which bike to get?

Thanks for the height input and the other bikes. I did see the kinderbike but looks like it is way too tall for my dd.
